Connecting Business and Industry

What is NOBE and What do We Do?

NOBE Mines is the Colorado School of Mines chapter of the National Organization for Business and Engineering (NOBE), a national organization that prepares the next generation of leaders to operate at the intersection of technical expertise and business strategy. At a university known for its strong foundation in engineering and applied science, NOBE Mines fills a critical gap by equipping students with the business knowledge, leadership experience, and professional skills that are often overlooked in traditional STEM curricula.

Our chapter serves as a hub for students who want to go beyond the technical and develop a deeper understanding of how engineering connects with the real-world decisions businesses face, whether in entrepreneurship, finance, operations, or product development. Through speaker events, workshops, hands-on projects, and leadership opportunities, we empower members to become well-rounded professionals who can communicate across disciplines and drive innovation with both technical and strategic insight.

As one of the fastest growing and most active chapters in the country, NOBE Mines is proud to offer a unique space where engineers become entrepreneurs, analysts, and future executives. Our mission is not just to teach business, it’s to build the confidence and capability to lead in any professional setting. Whether our members are working with real venture capital funds, launching startups, or preparing for careers in consulting or industry, NOBE Mines gives them the tools to succeed.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Your support directly enables us to host impactful and engaging events for our members. Sponsorship funds help cover essential costs such as food for general meetings, materials and supplies for professional development workshops, and logistics for networking and social events.

By partnering with us, you empower students to develop leadership skills, connect with industry professionals, and build a strong business-engineering community at Colorado School of Mines. Every contribution, at any level, helps us create valuable experiences for our members.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Supporting the NOBE Mines Chapter helps us provide meaningful opportunities for students to grow professionally, connect with industry leaders, and build practical skills outside the classroom. We invite you to partner with us in shaping these experiences while also engaging with some of Mines’ most driven and talented students.

How You Can Help

Your support can make an immediate impact by:

  • Partnering with us to host info sessions, workshops, or networking events
  • Providing financial support for meetings, events, and professional development opportunities
  • Offering mentorship, guest speakers, or collaboration on student-led projects

What We Plan to Do With Sponsorship Support

With your help, we plan to:

  • Host regular chapter meetings with guest speakers from across industries
  • Organize professional workshops on investing, personal finance, and career skills
  • Provide food and event materials to boost engagement and attendance
  • Create meaningful networking opportunities for students and company representatives

What We’ve Accomplished in the Past

Sponsorships in recent years have allowed us to:

  • Bring in industry professionals to share insights and career experiences
  • Host well-attended workshops on finance, investing, and professional development
  • Organize networking nights connecting students with companies and recruiters
  • Send members to national NOBE conferences to represent Mines and collaborate with peers nationwide

By supporting NOBE Mines, you are not only helping us deliver valuable opportunities to our members, but also building relationships with the next generation of leaders in business and engineering. We would be excited to work with you in creating opportunities that align with both your company’s goals and our chapter’s mission.

Success and Accomplishments

The strength of NOBE Mines lies not only in our mission, but in the dedication of our members and the hands-on opportunities we provide. Our three subcommittees, Due Diligence, Investments, and Personal Finance, serve as the foundation for real-world learning. The Due Diligence Committee partners directly with a $10 million venture fund, allowing students to conduct professional-level startup evaluations and gain firsthand experience in venture capital. The Investments Committee teaches members the fundamentals of financial markets and portfolio strategy, while the Personal Finance Committee focuses on equipping engineers with the practical financial literacy they’ll need beyond college. These subcommittees represent our commitment to building tangible skills and confidence in our members.

This past year, that commitment was on full display as NOBE Mines hosted the 2025 National NOBE Conference (NNC), welcoming students from across the country. The event featured industry speakers, workshops, panels, and networking opportunities, many of which were made possible through generous sponsor support. The conference was widely recognized as one of the most successful in NOBE’s history, praised for its professional execution, strong turnout, and inclusive programming. With that momentum, we are now preparing to take the next step forward by building on what we’ve learned and expanding our reach through even greater programming, impact, and collaboration. We invite you to join us on that journey.

We look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how we can collaborate with your company this semester.
